Here we go! Starting a new year once again. Kindergarten is such an exciting time!! The three teachers at McKenzie have been working around the clock to make our rooms and our plans for this year PERFECT in every way. We have had a lot of fun with the McKenzie theme this year, finding teacher sales, party decor, and yard sales to make our rooms new in a bright and musical way! We are ready to Rock and Roll on Monday! :)
Mrs. Rogers has a brand new bulletin board of beautiful blue.
Mrs. De La Paz found some neat fabric to brighten her walls.
Miss Hollingsworth found some old records to add a little "something" too!
We are looking forward to our students walking through the doors on the first day! Even though Meet-the-Teacher night was fun, we are ready to start in on Kindergarten learning. The first week will be full of learning how things work at school. Where to put our things, where to sit, what Kindergarteners get to learn, not to mention how many new people there are too meet!
Parents are a pretty important part of our classroom too! Soon we will be starting our send-home reading log! Every night, we are asking parents to read a "bed-time" story to their student. By modeling good reading behavior, showing where the words are on the page, and even making fun voices for the characters, we are ALL teaching our children/students how to read.
