Halloooooween!

What a month it has been! We are so sorry to keep you waiting for an update from Kindergarten! This month has been a blur, complete with rain, fog, and humidity that makes our hair curl and our playground time limited. McKenzie's Kindergarten classes are certainly still learning though!

Mrs. De La Paz/Garcia's class made shape scarecrows just last week! They are hanging in the hallway for all to see what shapes we know by name.

Mrs. O'Keefe's class has been working hard in Writer's Workshop. You should see all the artists and writers we have in there.

Miss Hollingsworth's class has learned about a lot of Thinking Maps. They know how to sequence the order of events in a story.

Mrs. Rogers' class has been using Mystery Message to "solve" (spell) lots of new words, including Halloween words AND word wall words.

This afternoon you might catch all of Kindergarten working together! They will be out on the sidewalk, counting pumpkin seeds out of a GIANT pumpkin. Mrs. O'Keefe is helping them all learn about tally marks, and Miss Hollingsworth will have her hands gooey as she counts. Thank goodness for Mrs. Rogers, Mrs. Garcia, and Miss Becky, they will be helping every Kindergartener count. Be sure you ask a Kindergartener how many seeds were in our pumpkin!

:) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) HAPPY HALLOWEEN! BE SAFE! :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)
